An uncommon early automobile guidebook of the National Old Trails Road, published in the early 1920s before the road became the western portion of Route 66. This copy seems to match the 1923 edition held at the Huntington, and would be published in varied form through the decade and beyond as automobile travel became more common. The guidebook contains fifty-nine detailed maps in total, with an eight page article at the rear discussing the National Old Trails Road, The road was established in 1912 to promote a national trail system, and Harry Truman would serve as president of the National Old Trails Road Association beginning in 1926.
