A felt pennant likely from Saint Paul’s College, an HBCU in Lawrenceville, Virginia. The college was founded in 1888 as Saint Paul Normal and Industrial School by Protestant Episcopal priest James Solomon Russell. Accredited in the 1920s, it contributed a large percentage of elementary and secondary school teachers to Virginia, North Carolina, and Maryland. The college closed in 2013 due to financial issues and loss of accreditation.
