An evocative series of portraits likely taken in San Francisco in 1968. The photographer is unknown - possibly a student? - but is likely a peer of the subjects, as evident from the relaxed and candid nature of most of the portraits. One sign in the background appears to be the Alamo theatre, and the general scenery in the background suggests San Francisco as well. The zeitgeist of the time is conveyed in spades, with a more humane and less fiery portrayal than is often seen in portraiture of the New Left.
